If you would like to get a closer look at things, you can visit the base and see things first hand. Because the auction items are delivered to a US Naval Base, you and any visitors with you will be required to clear security. There is a short form to fill out HERE. Please be aware that security is taken seriously at the base and there are restrictions as to who is allowed to visit and what may be taken onto the base. You will need acceptable ID and valid insurance. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE BASE WITHOUT PROPER CLEARANCE.
All our items are sold to the highest bidder for each auction. There are no minimum bids or reserve prices. Your bid is a binding contract, and all sales are final. You own the item if you have the highest bid at the time of the bid closing. If there is a problem with the highest bidder, the next highest bidders are given an option to purchase the item.
It is what it is
All our auction items are sold “Where is, As is”. We do not warranty our items, nor offer a guarantee. We make tremendous effort to insure that we present our entire auction inventory with all the information we have available to help you make the most informed decision. The information we offer regarding item condition or usability is a statement of judgment and not a statement of fact. Remember: All items in this auction are from the US Antarctic Program and the items may have defects not identified in the photos.
You may want to visit the auction site to inspect any items you’d like to buy before bidding. You may also send someone to the site to conduct the inspection on your behalf. We are also available to answer questions on items via email or telephone.
Buyer’s premium and other fees
Successful bidders are required to pay a 10% premium on each lot purchased. Handling charges will be charged for special arrangements, shipping preparations and any costs associated with transportation. There may be other fees associated with PayPal use or Wire Transfers. All packaging and shipping fees are the responsibility of the Buyer.
Payment and removal
Purchases must be paid in full within two (2) days of the end of the auction. Purchased items must be removed with seven (7) days of the end of the auction. Items purchased will not be released until full payment is received.
